Goals and Standards

 

TESOL Students Entrance Evaluation Process starts with a TESOL English Language Proficiency Exam TELPE and in most cases is followed by one on one Interview session. Stronger educational leaders are built through higher standards and more effective evaluations.  TELPE is a TESOL Canada & TESOL USA format of TESOL students evaluation and in many ways similar to IELTS or TOEFL exam standards with specific considerations for Language Teachers.

Following are also accepted if presented with indicated scores or above:

TOEFL=> Computer-based 240 / Paper based 580 (Plus)
TWE or Writing score on CBT 5 .5 (Plus) TSE 55 recommended 60

TOEFL iBT => 80 overall with a minimum score of 23 in each area
IELTS 7.0 overall
MELAB 90 & with a speaking test score 4
CAE, CPE, BEC Higher Cambridge Advanced English (Grade A),
Cambridge Proficiency English (Grade B or higher),
Business English Cambridge Higher Exam (Grade A)
CanTEST Listening, reading, writing 6, speaking 5
CAEL Band 60 overall, with a min. of 60 in each of the writing and speaking subtests
High schools in Canada, minimum English Grade 12 score of 80%
Completion of an undergraduate degree from an English-speaking university
Common European Framework C1
Canadian Language Benchmarks CLB 9 in each area

TCIBE TESOL Board Exams

TCIBE TESOL Canada International Board Exam is needed from both Native or Non-native Speakers, Graduates from Canada or International Institutions and Teachers with Experience or Fresh Graduates. TESOL Canada International Board Exam TCIBE is a Certification Program to provide validity to graduates education through either member or non-member schools of TESOL Canada. TCIBE Board Exams are conducted online and supervised in various Canadian & International Schools across the globe. This exam is the final step before graduating from a TESOL program. 

EXPERIENCED TEACHERS

Teachers Advanced Standing Evaluation "TASE" is a process through which TESOL Canada can evaluate, validate and credit your Previous Teaching Experience toward completion of a TESOL Certification Program. Once TASE process is complete, you will need to successfully pass TCIBE TESOL Board Exam to become accredited & certified.

TESOL CERTIFIED TEACHERS

Whether a training was completed at a non-accredited TESOL institution or at an accredited institution through TESOL Canada, applicants may apply to TCIBE. Certified Graduates from TESOL Canada Schools either in Canada or Abroad will not need TASE, while non-accredited schools graduates will need to complete TASE before applying to TCIBE.

INTERNATIONAL GRADUATES

University degrees completed outside Canada shall follow a Canadian equivalency process through local Provincial Ministry of Education or Equivalence Québec in Montréal. Once approved you can then apply to TASE program. After the completion of TASE process, you now need to enroll in TCIBE to receive your accreditation certificate.

Once Teachers Former Education and Teaching Experience is evaluated through "TASE" Teachers Advanced Standing Evaluation, to become TESOL Canada Certified & Accredited, one of the options below may be studied at a TESOL Canada Approved College Online or In-Class. Once Programs are complete, they will follow with TCIBE Board Exam Prior to Graduation.

TESOL Advanced Standard Certificate

TESOL Advanced Standard Certificate includes 300 hours of Theory & Practice. Theory is tailored for Adults, TBE Teaching Business English and TAE Teaching Academic English. This program provides employment opportunities both in Canada & Overseas. This program is available for applicants with or without a degree. Teachers with Former Teaching Experience may be granted Experience Credits. Teachers with former Academic Education in TESOL or ESL Teaching in general may be granted partial Theory Courses Credits. Maximum credits allowed is 50 % of the course.

TESOL DIPLOMA Standard - TCCT

TESOL Diploma Standard- “TESOL Canada Certified Trainer” TCCT program includes 450 hours of Theory & Practice. Theory is tailored for Adults, TBE Teaching Business English and TAE Teaching Academic English as well as TEC Teaching English to Children. This program provides employment opportunities as ESL instructor or TESOL Trainer with TCCT both in Canada & Overseas. Program requires a degree to join. Former Teaching Experience or former Academic Education in TESOL or ESL may gain Practicum or Theory Credits. Maximum course credits allowed is 50 % .

Postgraduate Diploma in TESOL includes 650 hours of Theory & Practice. Theory is tailored for Adults, TBE Teaching Business English and TAE Teaching Academic English as well as TEC Teaching English to Children & TCCT on Postgraduate level. Credits are transferable toward a Master Degree program at our accredited universities. Opportunities are ESL instructor or TESOL Trainer with TCCT both in Canada & Overseas. A degree is needed to join. Former Experience or Academic Education in TESOL gains Practicum or Theory Credits. Maximum credits allowed is 50 % .
